The Job
Last week was my first week at SoftBank Robotics in San Francisco as their Customer Success Apprentice for Whiz, the autonomous vacuuming robot.
So far, major accomplishments include:
Finishing 90% of onboarding docs and setup
Finishing 90% of onboarding docs and setup
Sitting in on management meetings
considerations for and against a new business partner
Reading on FAQ, Technical Docs, and troubleshooting
The City
Outside of work, I’m finalizing my living arrangements in the Bay Area. The major takeaway is that it takes a lot of following up to have a hope of finding something decent.
I also have a grand appreciation for the local Praxians who’ve met up with me for lunch or coffee. Though the company culture is welcoming and sociable, having something social outside of work is necessary for mental health and life. I’m thankful for family, friends, and loved ones around the country for not letting the distance prevent our communication. (Technology is a wonderful boon!)
Praxis Monday Recap:
This week on Monday, we had a fantastic guest named Robbie Deeks. The biggest thing I took away from that call was to not let my role limit what I learn to do. Just because I work in Customer Success, it doesn’t mean I’m limited to that set of skills. I should expand, learn more about other areas, and back up everything I take in with lots of hard work.
Concluding Thoughts
Week one in the bag and things are looking up. I anticipate great things and lots of hurdles to overcome. But I repeat myself. Hurdles are only setbacks if you don’t realize the benefits they can bring.
Onwards and upwards!
